"Quota means to share"

Quota International, organized in 1919 in New York, was the first international women's service organization. Wanda Frey Joiner, invited to a Kiwanis "ladies night" party in 1918, was inspired by the friendship and service oppurtunities available to and enjoyed by men. Since membership was not available to women, Wanda organized a group of women executives in her city of Buffalo. On February 6, 1919, this group of five women incorporated an organization that would become international. Wanda Frey Joiner was the first Quota President.
